• How far is Wolf Branch from Asheville? 34 miles or about a 40-45 minutes drive.
• AWD/4WD is recommended, but is it absolutely necessary? No. However we want our guests to know that Wolf Branch is a private, rough road (in spots) and is not state maintained. You will drive through the creek twice. For reference, the owner's vehicle has an 11" clearance. NO sports cars.
• How close is the nearest grocery store? Mars Hill, NC. Also shop in Asheville for more variety of health/organic foods.
Can we rent the cabin for only 1 night? There is a 2 to 3 night (or more) minimun depending on season/holiday.
• Is Wolf Branch private? Yes, it is 1.2 miles up a private road & there are very few neighbors. We will NOT be around during your stay.
• Is the cabin air conditioned? Yes, through the summer. One in the living room and one in the downstiars bedroom, although they are usually not necessary, as the climate at this elevation is moderate and cabin location in the woods makes it cooler. There are also 3 ceiling fans. 
• Are pets welcomed? Yes, we are happy to allow you to bring along your pets at no additional nightly cost. The deposit amount required however will be slightly higher than for those who are not bring pets. NOTE: if your pet sheds you are required to take extra precautions regarding the bedding/furniture and any clumps of hair on the floor, furniture, appliances, etc. Washer, dyer and vacuum, as well as other cleaning supplies are available at all locations. Failure to use them  will result in a non refund of your deposit.
• Are children permitted? Yes, but the cabin is NOT "childproof".
• How many rooms are there? 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, living/kitchen combo and sunroom.
• How many people can use the hot tub at once & where is it located? 4, located on an open deck- great for star gazing at night & birdwatching during the day.
• Will my cell phone work at the cabin? Possibly, however bring a calling card for long distance calls.
• Can we call Asheville for dinner reservations etc? Yes. An extended calling plan is provided for the Asheville area.
• Do we need to bring things like paper towels, soap, ketsup, mustard or sugar? No. These are at the cabin plus more.
• Is there a washer & dryer? Yes.
• Is there a fireplace? Yes, there is a fireplace with gas logs.
• Do we need to brings sheets & towels? No. They are provided.
 • Are pots, pans, utensils & dishes provided? Yes and they all need to be washed and put away before you depart.
Is there a refrigerator with a freezer and a stove with an oven? Yes, there is.
• Why is dial-up computer access offered only? The local phone company does not offer any other service.
• Can accommodations be made for severe allergies or special personal needs? We will do all that we can, however please remember that we need to know in advance.
• How far is the cabin from Mars Hill? 16 miles. Hot Springs? 20 miles.
What type of heat does the cabin have?  Gas heating system in main cabin with gas wall unit in the sunroom. Electric baseboard heat in the main bathroom & downstairs bedroom plus gas logs in the fireplace.
• How do we get keys? Instructions for key location will be given after all payments are received. You will not need to make a special trip to pick them up.
• Are picnic items such as plastic plates, spoons etc. & are paper plates provided? No
• Is a flashlight available? Yes, however, sometimes items are accidentally taken by others before you.
• Should our dogs and cats be treated for fleas and ticks? Yes, by your personal choice of product.
• Are there rats? They have not been an issue; however anything is possible. That is why we ask that trash be disposed of properly and with care. We strive to be litter-free inside and out!
• Is there an an outdoor water hose? Yes.
• Is there a vet close by? All animal emergencies for the entire Western NC area go top REACH animal hospital on Brevard Road.
• Is fishing nearby? Yes,  a NC stocked trout stream is within 1 mile of the cabin. You will need to purchase a NC fishing license if you do not already have one.
• Is the cabin handicapped accessible? No, there are no wheelchairs ramps etc. Regarding the number of steps to enter, there are no more 2 to 3 steps to enter depending on which entrance you use.
 • What items can be recycled? #1 & 2 plastics only, all aluminum & tin cans, glass, all mixed paper and cardboard. All containers need to be rinsed BEFORE you put in the recycling bins.
